Value-Added Housing Hubs

Project Overview

Renewable Cities is supporting the transition to low carbon, more affordable housing on public and non-profit land in B.C. The project team is exploring case studies to identify opportunities and challenges that groups have faced when implementing housing hubs on underutilized land, such as building homes on top of libraries and fire stations.

The value-added housing hubs project aims to increase transit-oriented developments that support livability, resiliency, affordability and sustainability. Mixed use prefabricated housing developments also bring the opportunity to support social connection, support a range of low emission transportation options, and have a low carbon impact.
