Andrea Hedley is the Communications Specialist for Renewable Cities at SFU’s Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue.
Andrea manages communications, engagement and outreach activities for Renewable Cities, providing an international and local network of policymakers and practitioners with resources for innovation in the urban energy transition. Her expertise is in communication and engagement practices that facilitate social mobilization for climate action, exploring the potential for networks, dialogue and collaboration to drive rapid progress on low carbon communities.
Andrea’s insight into communicating climate innovations is informed by her work as a sustainable community planner. She has several years of experience as a planner and project manager, integrating climate and sustainability policy into community plans and facilitating multi-stakeholder and public engagement processes. She has a Master of Arts in Environmental Education and Communication (RRU) and a Bachelor of Environmental Design (UBC).
Her favourite urban journey is walking along Vancouver’s seawall to the Convention Centre to enjoy the view of Stanley Park and the North Shore Mountains from a bench on Canada’s largest living roof.
